Why we use the V4
One V4 range, with capacity to suit very different heating jobs.
The V4 gives us a wide spread of capacities in the same product family. That matters because a 40,000-litre pool used from October to April is a very different heating job from a similar-sized pool expected to hold temperature through winter.
Its inverter system reduces output as the pool approaches temperature instead of operating at full capacity all the time. The three-direction airflow design also gives us more flexibility when planning the heater location without sacrificing performance.

Understanding V4 performance
Understanding V4 efficiency.
Heat-pump performance changes with air temperature, pool temperature, and how hard the unit is operating. Looking at the test conditions alongside the headline number gives a much more useful picture.
At the cooler test condition, published heating output drops to 6.8kW–29.0kW across the range and the COP ranges are lower. This is normal for an air-source heat pump and is why we size around the season you actually want to swim.
What COP means: Coefficient of Performance compares heat delivered with electrical energy used at a particular operating point. A COP of 10 means roughly ten units of heat are transferred for each unit of electrical energy consumed at that test point. It should not be read as a guaranteed year-round efficiency figure.

Installation has a major effect on performance.
A V4 needs outdoor ventilation, adequate water flow, somewhere for condensate to drain, and an electrical supply that suits the selected model. We check these points before ordering so the selected unit is suitable for the site and able to operate correctly.
The 10kW, 12kW, and 14kW models use a 10A plug connection according to Madimack's current specifications. Larger models are hardwired, and final electrical work needs to be assessed for the site.
01Ventilation & accessMadimack requires the unit to be installed in a well-ventilated area and recommends greater than the minimum clearances wherever possible.
02Water flowThe V4 range requires approximately 50–220 L/min depending on model. We verify existing pump capacity and plumbing.
03Condensate drainageHeat pumps produce condensation during normal heating. We ensure a sensible drainage path is established.
04Electrical & controlWe check electrical requirements and whether independent heating-priority control would improve your setup.
Complete the system
Two additions worth considering with a V4.
The heat pump is only one part of the result. Circulation control determines when it can run, while a fitted blanket can substantially reduce the heat the pool loses when it is not being used.
On suitable single-pump systems, the MJ Box allows the heat pump to initiate circulation when heating is needed, rather than relying only on the chlorinator timer. It can be useful where heating needs to run independently of normal chlorinator timing.
A blanket reduces evaporative and overnight heat loss, meaning the V4 has less lost heat to replace. If you are planning a new heater, we can quote a custom-fit blanket at the same time.

Extended warranty eligibility, registration, exclusions and conditions are controlled by Madimack and may change. Residential heat pumps installed in public or commercial settings have different warranty treatment. Australian Consumer Law rights also apply independently of the manufacturer's extended warranty. InverELITE V4 FAQ
Questions worth answering before you buy.
Most problems with pool heating start with model selection or installation assumptions rather than the heat pump itself. These are the points we check most often.
Which InverELITE V4 size do I need?
There is no reliable answer from pool litres alone. We size around pool volume, target temperature, swimming season, blanket use, wind and shade exposure, water flow and the installation conditions. A pool expected to stay warm through colder months generally needs more capacity than the same pool used only to extend spring and autumn.
Does COP 22 mean the V4 always runs at COP 22?
No. COP changes with air temperature, pool temperature and operating output. COP 22 is the highest figure in Madimack's published V4 data at the specified 27°C air / 27°C water / 80% humidity test condition. Cooler conditions produce lower COP and lower heating capacity.
How quiet is the InverELITE V4?
Madimack publishes sound levels at one metre starting at 36dB(A) for the smaller models at lower operating output, with the published range increasing by model and operating level. Actual sound at your property depends on placement, surfaces, barriers, airflow and how hard the unit is working.
Can the V4 cool the pool as well as heat it?
Yes. The current V4 range is reverse-cycle and includes cooling operation. Whether pool cooling is useful will depend on the site and how warm the pool becomes in peak summer.
Do all V4 models need hardwiring?
No. Madimack's current specifications list 10A plug connections for the V4-100, V4-120 and V4-140. The larger V4 models are hardwired. The electrical supply still needs to be checked against the selected model and site.
Do I need a pool blanket with a V4?
The heat pump will operate without a blanket, but an uncovered pool loses considerably more heat through evaporation. If practical, a fitted blanket reduces the heating load and should be considered when the system is sized.
Does the InverELITE V4 have Wi-Fi control?
Yes. Madimack provides Wi-Fi/app control. The installation area still needs adequate Wi-Fi signal; the current manual recommends a strong signal at the heater location for reliable control.
